Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Dawn Olchefske

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with our very special guest Dawn Olchefske from DOstamping with Dawn.  You can find out more about Dawn you can check our her blog here

You may just be joining the blog hop here at my blog Leisa Pedersen or may have come from the person previous to me.  Where ever you started, don't miss a single post. There are so many talented demonstrators in our hop today.

Today we are asked to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Dawn.

This is Dawn's card I have chosen to case:

And this is my card:

I started this CASE with the idea in mind to keep the antique/vintage sort of look that Dawn created here.  But my first attempt didn't work out, so I scrapped it, started again and ended up with the above card.

Dawn calls this technique "Triple Time Stamping" being that you are stamping 3 layers of card stock at the same time.  This is the first time I have attempted this technique and I must say that I am pretty chuffed with the result.
I chose Soft Suede card stock as the base and matts of my card and Whisper White Thick for the layers. I kept the same measurements as Dawn used - layers are 2"x 3 1/4", 3"x 4 1/4" and 4" x 5 1/4" and the matts 2 1/4"x 3 1/2", 3 1/4"x 4 1/2" and 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" folded.

I then positioned the 3 Whisper White layers together and stamped the floral image from the Crazy About You stamp set. However when using the Soft Suede ink pad, I found the image stamped to crisp for my liking and the effect that I was going for.  So I used the Stampin' Write marker to colour the stamp.  This gave the stamped image a more uneven, washed out look which is what I wanted.  The sentiment I used is from Butterfly Basics.
Once the 2 smaller matts were complete, I took some Linen Thread and wrapped around a few times, added some dimensionals and adhered to the base layer.  On this inside I just stamped a small images in the bottom corner for an added effect.

Just Because - Strawberry Sketches #SS005

Hi everyone from Perth, Western Australia. I am really excited to be playing along with Strawberry Sketches - this is my first week, eeek!  Thanks so much to Sarah Berry for the open invitation  :)

I haven't been participating in sketches/challenges for that long - in fact I have only had my blog up and running since July this year.  So I am hoping my creation stands up for the challenge.

Here is the sketch we are working with this week:

And here is my creation:

I decided to turn the sketch and go for a landscape card rather than portrait.  I settled on a 6" x 4" card and used Dapper Denim card stock for the base, then matted with Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White Thick.

The images and sentiment are from Vertical Greetings stamp set and stamped using Dapper Denim, Sweet Sugarplum and Flirty Flamingo ink pads.
I just added a few dimensionals to raise the layers a bit and hey presto!!   I am really please how this turned out.

Below is a list of products used to create this project.

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - Casing Jennifer Michalski

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with our very special guest Jennifer Michalski from Stamping Serenity.  You can find out more about Jennifer and Stamping Serenity here.

You may just be joining the blog hop here at my blog Leisa Pedersen or may have come from the person previous to me.  Where ever you started, don't miss a single post. There are so many talented ladies (and gent) in our hop today.

Today we are asked to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Jennifer.

This is Jennifer's card I have chosen to case:

And this is my take on her design:

I started this CASE with the idea in mind to showcase a DSP suite like Jennifer had done however after having a few trials I could tell it wasn't me.  So I changed the concept a little.
My card is 5x7 and I used Very Vanilla card stock as the base of my card.  I then found this gorgeous Designer Series Paper (DSP) - By The Shore - for the matting and I think it works perfectly.
I then layered with a 4.25" square of Very Vanilla and more wavy DSP from the same suite, creating a sort of sand to sea image.  The lighthouse is from the stamp set From Land to Sea, which I stamped in Staz-On ink then fussy cut and mounted with dimensionals.
I then took another piece of the striped DSP (from the same suite), used Dapper Denim ink to stamp the sentiment and adhered using dimensionals again  -  the sentiment is from Cottage Garden.
There are so many amazing ideas to draw inspiration from so be sure to continue your journey on this blog hop by following the list to see who’s up next!

Happy Father's Day

Hi everyone and thanks for visiting my blog.

It's been another busy week for me - with Father's Day just 4 weeks away, it was time to get my act together.

For the last 2 years I have made cards for Mother's / Father's day and donated them to my son's school for the stalls they hold.  The school sells the cards at their stalls and reap the rewards by using money they raise to buy equipment and necessary items they need.

So I made 100 cards, measuring 4"x 4" and if I do say so myself, I think they look pretty classy.

In staying with masculine colours, I chose Night of Navy, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip and Cajun Craze card stock for the base of the cards, then layered with Whisper White Thick. I adhered the stamped layer with dimesionals to give them a bit extra depth.  I chosen the sentiment and image from the Guy Greetings stamp set and stamped using the matching ink colour.

If you don't have the Guy Greetings stamp set yet - it is a MUST!!  It is so versatile and can be used for almost anything.  Check it out below.

I have listed all products used in this project below.

Are you in Australia?  If you would like to purchase any of the Stampin' Up!® products shown or any products from the Annual Catalogue, please visit my online store here - where you can shop around the clock 24/7.
